How do you get there?

The more people you get to know in life and the longer you live, the more you realize how many views about God and heaven there are. You will also experience how many of those views are inconsistent with who God says He is.
Even well-meaning "Christians" will sit on the fence about this subject, when as Christ-followers we should be staunch advocates of everything our Master says and live it to the fullest!
People's views are often influenced by movies, songs, stories, imaginations, false doctrine, and sometimes even OPRAH!
So many people, including the talk-show queen, believe there are many ways to God and heaven. But, what does God say about that?

"For there is only ONE God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and people. He is the Man Christ Jesus. He gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone."
1 Tim 2:5-6

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through Me." John 14:6

"So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God's wonderful kindness rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:21

There are many many more scriptures that reveal how to come to God and have eternal life in heaven. (John 3:16, Romans 3:22, 25, Romans 5:21, Romans 10:9-10, Galatians 3:24, Hebrews 10:10, 1 John5:1)

It just burdens my heart that so many people will rely on a movie or celebrity to guide them to their beliefs about their eternal souls. Maybe people who perpetuate the idea that there are many ways to God are just "wishful thinkers" or "eternal optimists" who don't want anyone to be separated from God for all eternity.

Well, God provided a way...........ONE way. Why only ONE way? Because it's His way and His ways are the BEST ways. He gave you a choice to accept that way or deny it. I say accept the gift. Who doesn't love gifts?!

Frugal, Thrifty, Economical, Cheap, Inexpensive....

Whatever you call it-that's what I am! Ask Deven, Bruce, or anyone who knows me really well! If there's a cheap, um, inexpensive way to do something-I'll find it. We decided that our family's theme for 2009 regarding our budget would be "frugality." So, we embarked on our first ever experience in making our own laundry soap! We printed out the directions, bought the ingredients and now have a whole year's worth of laundry soap for around $7!!! Trinity with the ingredients-Borax, Washing Soda, and shaved Irish Spring body soap! Bruce is melting the Irish Spring in simmering hot water
Trinity is dumping in both the Borax and washing soda into 3 gallons of tap water
Lastly, pouring in the soap.
We mixed it into a bucket that had 3 gallons of water, and let it sit covered for 24 hours before opening it and finding a somewhat gelatinous green goo! Just a few mixes and it's ready to roll!
So, for a total of $7 for the all the ingredients, we'll be able to fill this 5 gallon bucket 20 times. Each bucket holds enough soap for around 50 loads. 1000 loads of laundry for $7. Frugality at its finest!

Ingredients and measurements:
1 bar of soap of choice, shaved down using box grater and "melted" in 4 cups simmering hot water
1 cup washing soda (NOT baking soda)
1/2 to 1 cup Borax

3 gallons water

It doesn't bubble up like store-bought soap, but it does the job just as well!
