Nearly nothing weighs on a mother's heart more than the health and well-being of her children. The past several weeks have been incredibly frustrating and heart-breaking, as both the kids have been dealing with some health issues.
Away at college (thankfully only 30 minutes away), Tyler has been suffering through some strange infection that left him with a high enough fever to induce a seizure. It also left unsightly and painful scaling on his lips. The Urgent Care dr. that treated him still hasn't called with the results of the swabs they took. He called them a few days ago, and they still don't know what it is.
Trinity has been dealing with some kind of allergy, and to what we don't know. I'm so tired of pumping her full of albuterol and Claritin, mostly because it doesn't seem to help. I'd prefer to know the cause of her INCESSANT sniffing, coughing, and sneezing, so as to eliminate the cause altogether. It's November in Wisconsin-nothing is in bloom! Everything is dead from the many frosts and freezes.
We are taking so many measures to find out what that cause is.
mold? dust? the mattress? the sheets/pillows? houseplants? changing the furnace filter?
I've been praying for answers. SOMETHING! Especially since many nights in the past few weeks we have ended up quite sleep-deprived from the coughing.
Anyway, thanks for all of you that have been praying. Please continue to do so. My heart is quite heavy as my concern is growing.

Thank God for laughter
After my initial reaction of weeping, sadness, and grief, I calmed down and asked God to give me HIS perspective on the current president-elect. I've found newfound motivation to pray for our country more than ever before. We're gonna need it.
Of course school children have been having mock-elections and asking questions about the candidates. They inevitibly get opinions about and impressions of the presidential candidates from their parents. That's fine to share your perspective with the children.
But, to use them in your political agenda as advertisements is ridiculous.
This morning on the news, several young children were shown with the Obama symbol painted on their cheeks.
After I issued a grunt of disgust, Bruce picked up on my frustration. His response, "Geez, those kids don't give a *bleep* about Obama. They probably think he's a Pokemon!"
I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself!
Three months ago that statement would not have made much sense to me, but since Trinity and her best buddies are Pokemon experts and collectors, it was perfectly appropriate.
I don't know all the Pokemon character names, but indeed Barack Obama DOES sound like the newest Pokemon.
It put a whole new perspective on this situation. Hopefully Barack's arms won't fall off and he won't be influenced by players with trainer cards like the real Pokemon Trinity has in her backpack!
